Dr JP Kelly is Lecturer in Film and Television in the Department of Media Arts. His research focuses on the contemporary television industry with a particular interest in the relationship between new media technologies and emerging narrative forms.

He has published research exploring new models of television distribution and the relationship between distribution and narrative form.

His current research examines nostalgia, retrospection and repetition in contemporary screen culture. This project explores the way that these experiences are constructed, experienced and understood in relation to new media technologies and platforms such as online streaming, DVD box sets, social media and digital archives.
