Judith Schleicher

Postdoctoral Researcher in Conservation, Poverty and Wellbeing, University of Cambridge

Dr Judith Schleicher is a postdoctoral researcher working jointly between the Geography Department at the University of Cambridge and UN Environment World Conservation Monitoring Centre. Judith conducts interdisciplinary research bridging the natural and social sciences to inform biodiversity conservation practice and policy. She has broad research interests spanning the political ecology and impacts of biodiversity conservation, natural resource governance and the involvement of local communities in conservation initiatives. In her current research position she explores the relationships between nature and human wellbeing and poverty. Judith has previously worked on conservation and development projects in Africa, East Asia and Latin America, including at the World Bank.
