Senior Programme Manager, Postdoctoral Programmes, African Academy of Sciences

Dr Judy Omumbo is a Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences (AAS) based at the AAS secretariat where she is the Senior Programme Manager for Postdoctoral Programmes, Affiliates and Climate Sciences. Supporting the career development of early career scientists in Africa is her passion. She has worked for over 25 years in global health as an epidemiologist and in public health policy. She is also a climate change specialist and enthusiast. She sits on the WMO Research Board and the WMO COVID-19 task force, is a member and former co-chair of the Climate Research for Development CR4D scientific advisory committee and has served on several global and African panels and working groups that advise governments on climate change policy.
