Julia works at the Max Planck Institute for Ornithology in Germany. She received her PhD in 2010 from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, after which she spend three years as a Post-doc at the University of Sheffield. Julia's work focuses mostly on the Evolutionary Biology of social traits in birds, but she is also interested in and has published on gender issues in science.
