Dr Julian Elliott is Head of Clinical Research in the Department of Infectious Diseases, Alfred Hospital and Monash University and Senior Research Fellow at the Australasian Cochrane Centre. His research is focused on the use of emerging technologies to improve health outcomes, particularly for people with HIV and other chronic diseases. He has led the development of Covidence, a non-profit online platform to improve the efficiency and experience of systematic review production. This work is part of an ongoing program to enable high quality, up-to-date health evidence, encapsulated in the living systematic review framework. Dr Elliott also leads HealthMap, a cluster randomised trial of technology-enabled self-management for people with HIV, and chairs the Australian HIV guidelines panel. He previously worked for the Cambodian government’s HIV program and served as a consultant to WHO, UNAIDS and the World Bank.
