I'm an interdisciplinary researcher and writer from the UK, thinking about relationships between poetry/creative practices and anti-colonial relationships with lands and waters.
My PhD (completed at Queen Mary University of London in 2022) focused on how Indigenous, Black, and anti-colonial poetics address watery places and ongoing histories of colonialism and racial capitalism in Turtle Island/North America, the Pacific islands, and the UK. I consider how this poetic work assembles resurgent and reciprocal ways of living with oceans, rivers, and water infrastructures. I am currently an ESRC-funded postdoctoral fellow in Geography at Royal Holloway University of London, and a practising poet.
