Senior lecturer, The University of Queensland

Kate Power is a critical discourse analyst, whose research and teaching focus on how meaning is made, identities and relationships constructed, and power wielded. Former Secretary of the International Gender and Language Association, she holds a teaching and research position at The University of Queensland, where she works across disciplines to address issues of social justice in which gender and language are key components. Her research addresses diverse academic, economic, media, organizational, and other social contexts, with particular sensitivity to gender, sexuality and sustainability.
