I joined Cardiff Metropolitan University in September 2013 as Senior Lecturer in English Literature and Programmes Director for English and worked previously at the University of Birmingham and the University of Wolverhampton. My main areas of teaching expertise are in Nineteenth, Twentieth and Contemporary Literature, particularly the work of David Mitchell, Ali Smith and Sarah Waters.

My main research specialisms are in Modernist literature and Contemporary fiction, with an emphasis on women writers. My doctoral research focused on the writing of Virginia Woolf, Gertrude Stein, Djuna Barnes, H.D. and Radclyffe Hall and women modernist writers continue to be the main focus of my current research.
