Katja Friedrich's research direction is the investigation of kinematic and microphysical processes relevant for cloud formation and enhancement of precipitation with special focus on improving quantitative precipitation estimation and forecast during heavy precipitation, thunderstorms, and wind storms in mountainous regions.
