My research falls in three main areas – bioethics, feminist philosophy and agency. I am currently a lecturer in the philosophy department at Macquarie University, and have just completed a three year research project on gender in surgery. I also do research into the ethical issues associated with emerging health technologies, such as innovative surgical techniques and implantable devices, synthetic organs and advanced prosthetics.
I have a co-edited book (with Fiona Jenkins, ANU) Women in Philosophy: What Needs to Change, which came out with OUP in 2013. It brings together new work by anglophone women philosophers on women’s under-representation in academic philosophy.
