Honorary Research Associate, Murdoch University

Katrina Kell is an Australian academic and writer. Her research interrogates the myths surrounding Melbourne's iconic nude painting Chloé (1875) by French academician Jules Joseph Lefebvre.
Her short stories, poetry and essays have been published in anthologies and literary journals including Westerly, Text, Raudem and Melbourne's independent art history journal Index. She is the author of two young adult novels, and in March 2020, she was the winner of an Australian Society of Authors Award Mentorship for her unpublished novel manuscript exploring the untold histories of Chloé and the painting's enigmatic Parisian model.
