Dr. Kearsy Cormier is based at the Deafness Cognition and Language (DCAL) Research Centre at University College London and also a member of the UCL Department of Linguistics. She completed her PhD in Linguistics at the University of Texas at Austin in 2002 and worked as a Lecturer at the Centre for Deaf Studies at University of Bristol between 2002 and 2005. She has been at DCAL since 2006 where she has led on work in sign language linguistics. She has been director of the British Sign Language Corpus (www.bslcorpusproject.org) since 2011.
