Professor and Canada Research Chair in Global Health Governance; Scientific Director, Pacific Institute on Pathogens, Pandemics and Society, Simon Fraser University

My research focuses on the shared health risks associated with globalization and the collective action needed across societies to govern those risks. My research lies at the intersection between global political economy and public health. From the reform of the World Health Organization to advancing collective action on a range of shared health risks spanning communicable and non-communicable diseases, my research seeks to strengthen the institutional arrangements needed to protect and promote population health in a globalized world. Our current Pandemics and Borders Project is analysing the use of cross-border measures by all countries during the COVID-19 pandemic.
