Dr. Kelsy Burke is an associate professor of Sociology at the University of Nebraska Lincoln, where she studies how sex and religion collide in contemporary America. Her latest book is The Pornography Wars: The Past, Present, and Future of America's Obscene Obsession (Bloomsbury 2023). She is also the award winning author of Christians under Covers: Evangelicals and Sexual Pleasure on the Internet (2016, University of California Press). Kelsy is a 2022-2023 Public Fellow in LGBTQ Rights for the Public Religion Research Institute and co-PI with Dr. Emily Kazyak on a National Science Foundation grant examining laws and people’s reactions to religious freedom and LGBTQ rights.
