Kim M Caudwell

(he/him)
Senior Lecturer - Psychology | Chair, Researchers in Behavioural Addictions, Alcohol and Drugs (BAAD), Charles Darwin University

Dr Kim M Caudwell is a behavioural scientist and academic with an interest in health psychology, based at Charles Darwin University, on Larrakia Country.

Kim's main research interests focus on the reasons individuals do (or not do) things that are good (or bad) for their health, drawing from theories of social psychology, motivation, and volitional control. He is a founding member of Researchers in Behavioural Addictions, Alcohol and Drugs (BAAD) - a group of academics and clinicians from within the Faculty of Health who apply a psychological lens to “bad” behaviours. Primarily, Kim looks at patterned alcohol consumption behaviours (e.g., pre-drinking), problem gambling, and tobacco and alternative nicotine product use and cessation, however his eclectic approach and expertise in research design, methods, and methodologies, sees him work in a range of multidisciplinary spaces.

Kim is also passionate about tertiary education, and has amassed ten years' experience teaching psychology in various Australian University settings, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He currently teaches about social psychology, abnormal psychology, and research project management at CDU, and is the Course Coordinator for Undergraduate Psychology.
