Kirsten Stevens is Senior Lecturer in Arts and Cultural Management in the School of Culture and Communication at the University of Melbourne. A screen and cultural industries scholar, Kirsten has a special interest in film festivals and the impacts of digital technology and gender within national screen industries. She is a CI on the ARC funded AusStage LIEF 7 project where her work explores how data visualisations can contribute to meaningful analysis of Circus Oz's touring history. She is the author of Australian Film Festivals: Audience, Place and Exhibition Culture (Palgrave Macmillan 2016), along with over 20 book chapters and articles. She is co-editor of Screening Scarlett Johansson: Gender, Genre, Stardom (Palgrave Macmillan, 2019, with Janice Loreck and Whitney Monaghan) and Transnational German Cinema: Encountering Germany Through Film and Events (Springer, forthcoming 2020, with Irina Herrschner and Benjamin Nickl). Kirsten is deputy director of the Melbourne Women in Film Festival.
