Atmospheric Scientist and Project Manager, Software Sustainability Institute, The University of Edinburgh

Kirsty is the project manager of the Software Sustainability Institute, which works to promote the adoption of sustainable research software practices. Based at EPCC, University of Edinburgh, she leads projects focused on community building and green software practices.

Before joining EPCC, Kirsty was a research scientist at the University of Leeds, where she developed and evaluated global models of particulate matter for use in climate and health research.

Kirsty is also interested in public engagement and citizen science. She is a Co-Investigator on the HOMEs project, which uses a citizen science approach to measure airborne microplastics in homes, and on BiB Breathes, which measures children's exposure to PM2.5.
