Dr. Kurokawa received a MD degree in 1962 from the University of Tokyo, Faculty of Medicine. Following clinical training in internal medicine and then in nephrology at the Department of Medicine of the University of Tokyo Faculty of Medicine (62-69), he was a research associate, Department of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine (69-71), a senior research fellow at Cedars Sinai Medical Center and UCLA School of Medicine (71-73), assistant professor of Medicine, UCLA School of Medicine (73-74), associate professor of Medicine, Department of Medicine, University of Southern California (74-77), and UCLA School of Medicine (77-79), professor of medicine, school of medicine of UCLA School of Medicine (79-84). He was then appointed associate professor, Department of Medicine (IV) of the University of Tokyo, Faculty of Medicine (83-89), professor and chairman, Department of Medicine (I) of the University of Tokyo (89-96). He assumed Dean and Professor of Medicine of Tokai University School of Medicine (96-2002) and Director of the Institute of Medicine Sciences, Tokai University (96-04). He was professor, Research Institute of Science and Technology, Tokai University (04-06) as well as adjunct Professor, the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, the University of Tokyo (04-07).He is Distinguished Professor of Tokai University and Special Advisor, Hiroshima University (19-). Chair of advisory board on Corona to Minister Nishimura.
