Associate Professor of Developmental Psychology, La Trobe University

Dr Kristelle Hudry is Associate Professor with the Department of Psychology and Counselling, School of Psychology and Public Health, La Trobe University.

Following the completion of her PhD at the University of Queensland, Kristelle spent five years abroad in London, holding substantive post-doctoral research positions at the UCL Institute of Child Health and Institute of Education, and adjunct roles at the University of Cambridge and at Birkbeck, the University of London. She returned to Australia to join La Trobe University in 2010 where she has a substantive continuing teaching and research position with the Department of Psychology and Counselling, and has held a fixed-term research-focused role with the Victorian Autism Specific Early Learning and Care Centre and Olga Tennison Autism Research Centre.

Kristelle maintains active collaboration with members of the UK-based Preschool Autism Communication Trial (PACT) consortium and the British Autism Study of Infant Siblings (BASIS) network, whilst growing her own Childhood Autism Phenotype Team and forging new interstate and international research partnerships. Underlying her research is a common focus on understanding the developmental course of autism and related conditions in early childhood - from infancy through school entry - and understanding how early interventions and supports of various types can optimize outcomes for children, parents, and families.

Outside of her core teaching and research roles, Kristelle also works to build capacity for best-practice, lifespan autism diagnostic assessment, offering professional development workshops several times per year for professionals and researchers in the Asia Pacific region.
