Senior Lecturer in Epidemiology of Mental Health and Addiction, University of Liverpool

Dr Laura Goodwin is Senior Lecturer in Epidemiology in the Addictions Research Group (Psychological Sciences) and is a Visiting Lecturer at King’s College London. Laura has a PhD and Masters in Health Psychology and postdoctoral experience in Psychiatric Epidemiology. Interests include links between physical and mental health, alcohol research, and life course epidemiology, with expertise in cohort studies, electronic healthcare records, and development of electronic interventions. Laura is currently funded by the ESRC for a data linkage study on the longer term consequences of alcohol misuse and by the MRC to develop an electronic alcohol app (InDEx) for veterans. Future plans are to gain funding for a large RCT for the InDEx app and to use data linkage methods to conduct research on the comorbidity of alcohol and mental health problems. Laura is experienced in supervising PhD, MSc and undergraduate Psychology students. She has published over 30 peer reviewed articles.
