Laura Higson-Bliss

Teaching Fellow in Law, University of Birmingham

Dr Laura Higson-Bliss graduated from Edge Hill in 2013 with a degree in Law (LLB) and completed an LLM by Research in 2016. Laura’s research interests include: media law, particularly the law and social media; feminist research and aspects of public law. Her PhD examines the current criminal law framework and its application to online offences, in particular online abuse. She has also conducted teaching sessions with young people examining the criminal law and social media.

In September 2019, Laura joined the University of Birmingham as a Teaching Fellow in Law, teaching Human Rights and Criminal Justice, Legal Communications and Writing, Public Law and Criminal Evidence.

Laura is a member of the Socio-Legal Studies Association and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
