Laura Renshaw-Vuillier

Senior Lecturer, Psychology, Bournemouth University

I have a MSc in Neuropsychology from the University of Toulouse, France and a PhD in Education, Psychology and Neuroscience from the University of Cambridge, UK. I am currently a senior lecturer at Bournemouth University, UK.

My research looks at emotions in mental health and illness with a particular interest in eating disorders. I use a range of methods, from self-reports to electroencephalography to fully understand where in the emotion cycle the deficits are taking place. One of my current project funded by the Bristish Academy looks at the neural bases of emotional processing and regulation in individuals with bulimia nervosa.

I do also have a personal history of an eating disorder, which I suppose is why this disorder is so close to my heart and why I'm dedicating my career to better understand it and help people suffering from this terrible illness.
