Laura Shipp

Laura is an interdisciplinary researcher with interests in cyber security, FemTech and period tracking apps. She is currently a research assistant on the PETRAS-funded CyFer project, based at Newcastle University. The CyFer project investigates the cyber security of FemTech devices and wearables (IoT). She is also in the write-up year of an ESPRC-funded PhD at the Centre for Doctoral Training in Cyber Security at Royal Holloway, University of London. Her doctoral research focuses on the cyber security of period tracking apps, using it as a case study to co-develop feminist understanding of cyber security in both theory and practice.
