Senior Lecturer, Warsash School of Maritime Science and Engineering, Solent University

Dr Laurie Wright is a Senior Lecturer at Solent University. From beer production to the role of the maritime industry in tackling climate change, his research is focused on understanding and addressing the sustainability of diverse human activities and products. He has expertise in the concepts of life cycle assessment, circular economics, resource efficiency and sustainable development.

Laurie joined the Warsash School of Maritime Science and Engineering at Solent University in September 2013. He is a senior lecturer and oversees the school's research strategy as Strategic Lead for Research. Previously, he was a teaching fellow in carbon management at the University of Southampton. He is co-chair of the American Center for Life Assessment (ACLCA) Education Committee, and a member of the Forum for Sustainability through Life Cycle Innovation (FSLCI).

Laurie's expertise is focused on understanding and addressing environmental impacts from diverse human activities and products. From beer production to the role of the maritime industry in tackling climate change, he is an expert on the development of solutions to the complex challenges of sustainability. He has a track record of appointments to service on external bodies, on the scientific and organisational committees of several international conferences, and as a scientific adviser to a number of national and international working groups.
