Lawrence McKay is a PhD candidate at the University of Manchester studying political representation and public discontent with politics. He came to the university in 2016, having previously studied for a BA in History and an MRES in Politics at the University of Exeter.

At Manchester, Lawrence is engaged in the academic community, and has taught undergraduates on the subject of Modern British political history. His work as a PhD candidate is supported by the Hansard Society, with whom he is working on design, analysis and interpretation of the annual Audit of Political Engagement surveys.
