Associate Professor of Communication, Mississippi State University

Lawrence Strout is a professor of communication at Mississippi State University. He received a PhD in communication from Florida State University, and holds masters degrees in legal studies and journalism from University of Illinois-Springfield and Ohio State University, respectively.

Professor Strout previously served as a distinguished professor of journalism at Mississippi University for Women. Professor Strout was a broadcast journalist, 1975-1989, prior to his career as a teacher and researcher concentrating on broadcast and print journalism. His essays on American journalism history have appeared as book chapters as well as articles in Journal of American Culture and Media History Digest.
