Leandro Sanz

As a medical doctor, Leandro focuses on improving the management and the treatment of patients with severe brain injury. At the clinical level, he coordinates the assessment of consciousness among acute patients in the intensive care unit and is involved in therapeutic or end-of-life decisions. Besides, he leads translational research on the efficacy and the mechanism of promising new treatment candidates to improve recovery (apomorphine, zolpidem). As a member of the management group for the Coma Scientific Panel at the European Academy of Neurology, he aims to foster international collaborative frameworks and better global care for these neglected patients.
