Prof Lesley Campbell is a staff specialist a St Vincent's Hospital, Director of the diabetes services at the hospital and a Professor of Medicine at the University of New South Wales.

She has had a long career in clinical research at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research, publishing over 190 papers so far.

Her major areas of interest are in the cause of diabetes and insulin resistance and the interaction with obesity. She is also an advocate for obese and diabetic people and has served on and chaired national and international committees.
