Reader in Exercise and Health Physiology, University of Hertfordshire

Dr Lindsay Bottoms is a Reader in Exercise and Health Physiology at the University of Hertfordshire. She is currently the Head of the Centre for Research in Psychology and Sports Science. From 2010 -2015 Lindsay was a Senior Lecturer in Exercise Physiology and the University of East London. Prior to that, from 2007 – 2010 Lindsay was a Lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire, teaching on the Sport Science degree programmes.

Lindsay's current research areas are primarily focused around physical activity for health with several funded research projects in this area. Her Ph.D was on thermoregulation during upper body exercise, and was undertaken at Coventry University. In addition to teaching Lindsay competed internationally at Epee Fencing, having competed for England at the Fencing Commonwealth Championships in 2010 and won a bronze medal at the 2014 championships. She volunteers at British Fencing as a Weapon's Co-ordinator for epee and is the Co-Team Manager for the Senior England Fencing Team.
