Dr. Lisa DeFrank-Cole is Professor and Director of Leadership Studies at West Virginia University. She is an active member of the International Leadership Association and serves on the steering committee of the Women’s Leadership Initiative at WVU. Writing about and studying leadership for 20 years, she focuses her research and writing on women. She was a Fulbright Specialist Scholar in the Kingdom of Bahrain 2012. She was awarded the WVU Mary Catherine Buswell prize for service to women in 2017 and is currently The Harriet Lyon Professor of Women and Gender Studies. In September 2019 she was recognized as a West Virginia “Wonder Woman” by West Virginia Living Magazine. Women’s Leadership Journeys: Stories, Research, and Novel Perspectives by Routledge (2019) is her recent co-edited book. She is currently co-authoring a textbook about women and leadership, with Dr. Sherylle Tan, and it will be published by SAGE in 2021.
