Lisa Biggs, Ph.D., is a performing artist and performance scholar who currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Africana Studies/Rites and Reason Theatre at Brown University. Biggs researches the role of the arts in movements for justice, including theatre for women incarcerated in the U.S and in South Africa. She earned her Ph.D. in Performance Studies at Northwestern University. Recent publications can be found in Theatre Survey, Solo/Black/Woman: Scripts, Interviews, Essays and in Black Acting Methods.
