Professor in Autism Education, UCL

I am Professor of autism education and Director of the Centre for Research in Autism and Education (CRAE) at UCL Institute of Education, University College London. I trained as an educational psychologist in Perth, Australia, where I also completed my PhD on the cognitive profile of children with autism, before becoming a Research Fellow at University College, Oxford and lecturer at the University of Bristol.

I am committed to understanding the causes, correlates and consequences of autism, including the distinctive opportunities and challenges faced by autistic children, young people and adults and their impact on everyday life – at home, at school, at work and in the community. I am also dedicated to promoting awareness and acceptance of autism.
