Professor of Biochemistry, University of Sussex

Professor Louise Serpell is based at the University of Sussex in Brighton and leads a collaborative research team working on the molecular basis of Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative diseases. Her research also aims to produce novel bionanomaterials using self-assembling proteins.

Professor Serpell is the chair of the Athena SWAN self-assessment team in the School of Life Sciences at the University of Sussex. She has a strong interest in gender equality in Science.
