Lucy Potter

Lucy previously studied Philosophy at the University of Sheffield before joining the Department of Sociological Studies in 2019. Her MA dissertation involved an exploration of ‘Voluntourism’ and the extent to which it perpetuates neo-colonial relations of power. After completion of her MA, Lucy worked as a Research Assistant for a third-sector organisation. She was then awarded a PhD studentship in 2022, her PhD research focuses on the British asylum system and cases submitted under grounds of non-religiosity.
