PhD Candidate, UCL

I recently completed a PhD in English Literature at UCL on literary representations of homelessness in fiction, life writing and performance in the interwar period.

Other research interests include working class fiction; social exploration literature; George Orwell; documentary film and Mass Observation; unemployment in the interwar years; critical theory.

I am also a theatre director, and am joint artistic Dragonflies Theatre and Con|Eva. Recent productions include The Clinic, Queers and The Chemsex Monologues.

I write book reviews regularly for the TLS, Literary Review, LA Review of Books, Review 31 and various other print and online publications.
