Head of Book Arts, Archives, & Rare Books, University of Richmond

As Head of Book Arts, Archives, and Rare Books at the University of Richmond's Boatwright Memorial Library, Lynda Kachurek is responsible for acquiring, preserving, and providing reference and instruction with materials in the library’s archival and rare book room collections. Boatwright Library's newly renovated Book Arts Studio adds creative depth to the division's instruction and research possibilities while connecting the archives and rare books with more contemporary practices of traditional bookmaking arts. Additionally, she is the liaison librarian for the Department of History and provides collection development and information literacy instruction for that area. Faculty responsibilities include committee membership and instruction for both undergraduate first year seminars on the history of the book as well as graduate courses on oral history, public history, and archival processing and technologies. Prior to this position, she worked as Collections Manager and Digital Projects Coordinator for Special Collections and Archives at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.
