Lynette Knapp is a Merningar Barduk Elder who grew up on family traditional country which stretches along the south coast of Western Australia from Denmark to Israelite Bay.
As a child and young adult she had the opportunity to learn from her Merningar father, aunties and other extended family about language and culture.
As a senior family member she is commited to sharing her culture in a positive light and has collaborated with archaeologists, anthropologists, linguists and conservation biologists advised on cultural matters to several government agency advisers and Ministers/politicians.
