M. Àngels Cabasés Piqué

My exclusive dedication to the University began once I had read the Doctoral Thesis (1993) and obtained the Degree of PhD in Applied Economics. I have participated in various projects including socio-economic analyses at national and European level and in regional economic studies, as well as in teaching-innovation projects. Also, I have participated in national and international congresses. My lines of research include statistical and econometric analyses applied to the regional economy, among others the analyses of social policies aimed at young people and also the analyses of measures of inequality in the economic sphere.

In relation to university management I have been Secretary of the Faculty of Law and Economics (2001-2004), Vice Dean-Head of Studies of the Faculty of Law and Economics (2004-2006) and Dean of the Faculty of Law and Economics (2006 ). In 2016 I coordinated the extracurricular practices of the Faculty. My university career has been interrupted by my active participation in politics, first as General Secretary of the Interuniversity Council of Catalonia (2006-2008) and as Deputy to the Parliament of Catalonia (2008-2010).

I have been part of the Research Group in Applied Economics attached to the Centre for European Legal Studies and Mediation (CEJEM) of the University of Lleida, until January 2015, carrying out various socio-economic, statistical and econometric studies. Currently my research focuses on the analysis of the economic impact of employment policies aimed at young people, through a statistical and econometric analysis of the labour market, as well as the study of inequality in the distribution of income. I am a member of the research group, Centre of Studies on Youth and Society (JOVIS.COM ), which aims to promote the study of contemporary youth from an interdisciplinary perspective (economics, law, sociology, anthropology, among others), as well as, knowledge transfer from research to the institutions that intervene in this field (mainly youth public policies). I am currently the head of department of Applied Economics of the University of Lleida.
