Stephen J.R. Smith Chaired Professor of Strategy & Organizational Behavior, Queen's University, Ontario

Tina Dacin is the Stephen J.R. Smith Chaired Professor of Strategy and Organizational Behaviour in the Smith School of Business at Queen's University. She is the Director of the Community Impact Research Program at Smith. Professor Dacin's research interests include cultural heritage and traditions, institutional change, social entrepreneurship, and strategic collaboration. Her work has been published in leading management journals and she has served in a variety of editorial positions for these journals. Professor Dacin teaches courses in ethics and AI, leadership, change, social innovation and strategy. She is an experienced executive educator, teaching in programs offered by the Smith School of Business, as well as designed and led programs in Social Finance and Leadership as well as taught in the joint Kellogg-ISB program. Professor Dacin advises and speaks to major corporations in the airline, biotechnology, defense, energy, financial services, healthcare, and telecommunication industries. She has served as a judge for the Global Outsourcing 100 (published annually in Fortune) and the National Credit Union Innovation Award. Professor Dacin has received several awards and recognition for research and teaching. Most recently, she was inducted as a Visiting Fellow into Sidney Sussex College at the University of Cambridge, U.K. At Queen's, she is the recipient of the E. Marie Shantz Chair, as well as the recipient of the Dean's Distinguished Faculty Fellowship, the 2005 and 2019 Award for Research Excellence, and a 2007 Frank Knox Teaching Excellence Award finalist. At Texas A & M, she received the 2000 Mays College Research Achievement Award, as well as the 1999 Texas A & M Association of Former Students Distinguished Teaching Award. While at Texas A & M, Professor Dacin was recognized as one of the "Outstanding Faculty" in Business Week magazine's annual report on Business Schools. Professor Dacin received her doctorate from the University of Toronto and prior to joining Queen's University, she spent nine years at Texas A & M University. She has most recently been a Visiting Professor for several years at the Judge Business School at Cambridge, Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, and the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad, India.
