Maddy is undertaking a PhD, exploring human-bird interactions and community engagement in the context of threatened migratory shorebird conservation in Australia and Japan, with the School of Ecosystem and Forest Sciences at the University of Melbourne. She is passionate about exploring the valuable contributions social sciences can make in enhancing biodiversity conservation, especially in understanding socio-cultural dimensions of community engagement.
