I work on global ecological changes (e.g., land-use changes, climate changes, invasive species) and their implications for human-environment sustainability.

I am also a poet and writer and published two books poems entitled "A New Index for Predicting Catastrophes" and "Parasitic Oscillations" with McClelland & Stewartt/Penguin Random House Canada as well as a Governor General Literary Award-Winning book of creative nonfiction, "This Red Line Goes Straight to Your Heart" with Penguin Random House CAnada
