David G. Frey Assistant Professor of Art History, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

I am a scholar of eighteenth and nineteenth-century American art in a global context. I study the history of globalization, especially intersections of art with histories of technology, natural science, and economics. I am the author of The End of Landscape in Nineteenth-Century America as well as numerous articles on topics ranging from the print culture of financial bubbles to the long history of goods made in China.
