Lecturer in Global Economy, School of Social and Political Sciences, University of Glasgow, University of Glasgow

I am a political economist who specialises in the politics of corporate power: how corporations acquire political influence, how they exercise it and what can be done about it. I conduct research on corporate social responsibility, corporate influence in the media, and corporate accountability under international and national law. In addition to my academic career, I am an award-winning business journalist, with work published in BusinessWeek, Forbes, Fortune, The Guardian, The New Statesman and the Washington Post, among others. As such, dissemination of my research and expertise on public platforms like The Conversation is an important part of my research practice.
