Marcus Woolombi Waters

Dr Waters is an internationally renowned published playwright, screenwriter, journalist and academic. He has become one of the most read Aboriginal social commentators in Australia, having been published with the Sydney Morning Herald and the Guardian before taking a regular column with the Koori Mail, Australia’s longest running independent national Indigenous newspaper as Dr Woolombi Waters. In 2014, Dr Waters won the Australian Multicultural and Indigenous Media Award for Best Editorial Reporting, while writing for the National Indigenous Times. As an academic scholar, Dr Waters has 34 major publication listings and has published two books about race relations and identity in the last three years.
