I have a PhD and MA in geography from Kent State University and BAs in music and geography from St. Cloud State University. My research focuses primarily on memory, landscape, and identity, preferably at the intersection of the three. Regionally, I focus on Wales, but also have extensive research portfolios in North America, England, and Cambodia. I am currently in a tenure-track position within the Department of Social Sciences at Michigan Technological University where I advise master's and PhD students in our Industrial Heritage and Archaeology and Environmental and Energy Policy programs and teach courses on memory and heritage, popular culture, human geography, sustainable tourism, and industrial communities.
