Dr Mark Carew is a social psychologist, who works on a range of issues related to disability and global health. His career began through funded doctoral and post-doctoral work (the latter via the British Academy) to understand the social psychological antecedents underlying awkward interactions between people with and without disabilities. While a post-doc, Dr Carew also worked as part of the core research team on a FIRAH-funded project at the University of East London investigating attitudes toward disabled sexuality in South Africa. Dr Carew has recently co-authored his first book entitled: Disability and Sexual Health: Key global issues.
