I specialize in the history of Indigenous-European relations in the Americas during the early modern period (1500-1800). My courses include Indigenous peoples and colonial genocides; racism in world history; European expansion and global interaction; Indigenous peoples and Treaties.
I have been teaching at the University of Winnipeg since the fall of 2004.
My publications, which focus on Dutch-Indigenous relations in the Americas, include a monograph, a co-edited volume, and an edited primary source. I have also published a number of book chapters and journal articles. Peer review work include many book reviews and reviewing manuscripts for various academic publishers (incl. Oxford University Press).
