Assistant Professor of Accounting, Northumbria University, Newcastle

Dr Mark Middling is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Northumbria University, where he has worked since 2015. Mark passionately researches accountability, accounting and governance in the football industry and completed his DBA in 2023 entitled "Accounting for Supporters - Developing a new supporter focused reporting framework for the English football league". He is currently working on multiple post-doctoral articles.

Before his academic career, Mark spent 10 years working as a Management Accountant and Financial Controller, predominately in the manufacturing sector.

His teaching interests include management accounting and accounting for non-specialists.
