Dr Marlies Craig currently works as a Science Officer in the Durban office of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate change Working Group II Technical Support Unit. She has a PhD in Epidemiology from Basel University, and studied biology, entomology and parasitology at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She worked for 15 years at the South African Medical Research Council, focusing on the spatial and temporal distribution of malaria, and malaria diagnosis. She has also worked as a consultant (epidemiological support, data management, statistical analysis and training) and is a freelance educator with a post-graduate diploma in Adult Education (UKZN).
