Martin Acheampong is a Research Fellow at the Institute for African Affairs of the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA), Hamburg. He researches democracy and democratization in Africa, with particular interests in parliaments, elections, representation, and political parties.
Currently, he is researching the personalization of executive power in Sub-Saharan Africa. Previously he was a doctoral fellow at the Bamberg Graduate School of Social Sciences (BAGSS), University of Bamberg, Germany.
